I don't think we're going to come anywhere near it. The Toyon camps are
supposed to be for up to 50 people. They are usually expecting more
people to share tents than actually do when they quote numbers like
that, but we should have plenty of room in any case.

Yes, I have to call them about that. I'm not sure exactly what the
permit has to do with, i.e., if you are not supposed to use the
fire-ring without it, or even the charcoal bbqs, or what.

I expect that it has to do with fire danger rating at the time, so I'm
not sure how far in advance I can apply. Some parks even ban fires
sometimes if fire danger is too high. East and southeast of San Jose
particularly turns into a tinderbox at this time of year, as you may be
aware. Fortunately that's not where we are, but still.

Anyway, how soon do you need to know? (If you are asking because you're
planning to bring wood, bless you; I like having fires but I only have a
little wood left over from winter, heh.)

Unfortunately, I don't know for sure. The site is gated and you can't
park on the service road outside it, so I haven't been in person to
count this sort of thing. Possibly one per picnic table, so 12-16
depending on what site we are in, would be a guess.

That said, animals usually manage to get into food lockers unless they
are unusually secure, so I would recommend storing food in your car
rather than using the lockers unless we are right there at the time.

As far as I know we don't have any vegetarians or vegans this time
around, but as we are not doing any kind of group food project, please
yourself. No one has a right to dictate your diet. ;)
