The thing is, he's 'kin himself and has an incredible amount of knowledge of
fairy lore. He just thinks of otherkin people as being con geek types and
obsessed with fantasy role playing. If there's only going to be ten of us, I
can't imagine that the event would be dominated by con geeks and fantasy
role playing. I have no idea where these stereotypes come from, but then
I've never really run in role playing or any of the various fan convention
social circles. (and I'm really hoping that he'll help me with my
presentation!)

Umm... if that's his attitude, I'd really rather you didn't. I don't 
want us (collectively) to be spending any time trying to justify or 
explain ourselves. I don't mean to categorically exclude non-otherkin 
but they do need to be "kin friendly" and it doesn't sound like this 
person is.
