What to bring to MythiCalia
For campers:
- Tent, tarp, and rain fly for tent. (There's essentially zero chance of rain on this date, but a rain fly keeps dew off your tent, if nothing else.)
- Sleeping pad or mattress, sleeping bag, and pillow. Overnight lows average in the low 50s, which may not sound that cold, but bedding should be rated for at least freezing temperatures for best comfort.
For cabin space:
- Blankets and pillow. The cabin spaces are not heated, so plan accordingly.
Everyone:
- Clothing appropriate for hot day temperatures (80s to 90s) and cool night temperatures (50s).
- Bathing suit, if you want to use the hot tub.
- Dishes/utensils/cooking pots, if you have something specific you want to use. (The site provides an assortment of these sorts of items.)
- Charcoal, if you want to use a barbecue grill. (Firewood is provided by the site.)
- Food and drink for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. (Closest grocery stores are approximately 40 minutes away.)
- Lantern and/or flashlight and extra fuel or batteries.
- Personal care items such as hairbrush, toothbrush, soap... (Please try to make any soaps and such you bring be "natural" products. The site is not on the sewer system and has pit toilets and a greywater system in place.)
- Trash bags.
- Spare roll of toilet paper.
- Towel(s).
- Insect repellent. (Mosquitoes are not a big issue here, but yellowjackets may be.)
- Sunscreen.
- Magical tools, energy toys, and other shiny objects.
- Camera and extra batteries.
- Acoustic musical instruments or drums.
- Open mind and cool attitude.
What not to bring
- Electrically amplified instruments or loud music players. (Small portable radios and the like are OK.)
- Fireworks.
- Firearms or other projectile weapons.
- Portable fire pits. Fires are permitted in designated locations only; no fires or candles in camping areas.
- Illegal controlled substances.
- Drama and a chip on your shoulder.
